At a glance:

The Athletics are solidly in second place in the American League West and are in a fight for a wild-card spot. They have not played at Wrigley Field since 2010. Matt Chapman entered Sunday with 24 home runs and 64 RBI. Marcus Semien had a line of .273/.360/.466 with 17 homers and 2 RBI. Anderson pitched briefly for the Cubs in 2017, and his career has been rejuvenated with Oakland. The Athletics are a middle-of-the-pack team offensively in the AL. The Cubs entered Sunday second in the National League in ERA (3.98). They embark on a three-city road trip after this series.
