Let Senate vote

Before we move on … again

Another weekend. More gun violence. More senseless deaths. More ineffective thoughts and prayers. Legislation such as H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112, certainly can't solve this crisis, but it's a strong step in the right direction. The Senate majority leader needs to call a vote. If the senators want to offer amendments, that's fine, the issue warrants discussion. We sent our legislators to Washington to represent the people, but the people don't get a voice when one individual won't call for a vote.

Sens. Durbin and Duckworth, please publicly demand that this issue be debated. The citizens will hopefully vote in record numbers next year, but for now, we need help from the ones we elected. Use your voices to represent ours.
