Gurnee police hosting cruise night for charity
The Gurnee Fraternal Order of Police Social Lodge No. 266 will host the first Cops N' Rodders charity car, truck, and motorcycle cruise night in the Gurnee Mills parking lot from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 17.
Registration is free for participating vehicles and open to all makes and models. The free, public event was created to bring vehicle enthusiasts together to raise money for the annual Gurnee FOP Shop with a Cop program.
Along with the car displays, there will be a raffle for prizes as well as a 50/50 raffle. Portillo's will sell food and provide a donation for the cause.
The annual Shop with a Cop program is held in December. Last year, Gurnee officers treated about 40 area children to a holiday shopping spree at the local Target.
