Elmhurst Realty office collects teddy bears at kindness event

The Elmhurst office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group, in conjunction with the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation, held a Teddy Bear drive, collecting close to 150 bears for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

During the company's annual Community Kindness event, close to 500 Realtors from 24 of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group offices volunteer time and talents to organizations in their respective communities.

"A Teddy Bear drive was a perfect opportunity to offer a child a warm, cuddly friend during a difficult time," said Jude Marchetti, associate managing broker of the Elmhurst office.

"Lurie Children's Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital gratefully accepted the bears, and relayed that personal touches like receiving a bear mean so much to a child and their family.

Additionally, the Elmhurst Police Department received tie blankets that they could share with children as needed. A special thank you goes to Emerson Elementary, Churchville Middle School and District 205 for their role hosting additional collection bins and passing out fliers.

"I'm grateful for the generosity of our agents, their clients, our staff and the Elmhurst community that made this event such a success," Marchetti said. "Thank you to everyone who participated."
