Short story contest

The Mundelein Arts Commission is hosting a short story contest for adults 18 and over, and students in or entering grades 9-12 this fall. Anyone living or working in Lake County can enter. Deadline is Oct. 1. The theme for both contests is "The Mountains We Climb." Stories should include some aspect of this theme, in any creative manner. Stories must be fictional. Nonfiction pieces, such as memoirs, histories, descriptions, or essays will not be considered. Stories will be judged on several elements, including plot, conflict and character.
