Barrington's Suzanne Gibson Named Rotary District Governor

Suzanne Gibson of Lake Barrington and the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club was named District Governor of Rotary's 68 clubs and 2,200 members in Chicago's north, northwest and west suburbs for Rotary's 2019-2020 year. She guides the district, clubs and officers toward Rotary International's goals. The installation ceremony for Gibson and her 26 Assistant Governors was held at the elegant San Filippo Estate in Barrington and its Place de la Musique, known worldwide for a magnificent collection of beautifully restored antique music machines.

An 11-year member of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club, Suzanne Gibson was formerly president, international chair, membership chair and recipient of many awards. She participated in Rotary exchanges and service projects in Guatemala, South Africa, Taiwan and Toronto. Professionally, she's a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Suzanne and Mark Gibson are long-term Barrington residents with three children and two grandchildren. Both are major donors to Rotary International and Mark Gibson is immediate past president of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club.

Rotary's 1.2 million members in 200 countries solve problems and create lasting change to improve lives. Locally, Rotary clubs support worthy causes and engage in hands-on service projects to benefit their areas. Globally, Rotarians help promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water/sanitation/hygiene, save mothers and children, support education and grow local economies.
