Swedish activist Thunberg joins German climate protest

BERLIN (AP) - Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg has joined thousands of young protesters in Berlin for a rally urging action against climate change.

Thunberg told the cheering crowd that adults haven't taken responsibility for the climate crisis and young people have had to take to the streets around the world - sometimes skipping school - in the Fridays for Future rallies.

She says "young people feel like they must sacrifice their own education in order to protest against the destruction of their future."

One young girl in the crowd wore a sign saying "the climate crisis won't wait for my graduation" while others waved banners and chanted slogans.

Thunberg pledged she would "never give up and I hope that you will not either because this is a question of life or death."
