Motorcyclist dies after crash on I-90 near Hoffman Estates

A motorcyclist from Decatur died Monday after he was struck by a semitrailer truck on Interstate 90 near Hoffman Estates.

Matthew Studinger, 23, was entering eastbound I-90 from Beverly Road when he lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle and was thrown into traffic, where he was struck by a Freightliner semitrailer truck driven by Mykhailo Demchenko, 28, of Sarasota, Florida, according to Illinois State Police.

Studinger was pronounced dead at a hospital. Demchenko was not injured.
