Lincolnshire to debut Heroes Night Aug. 23

The village of Lincolnshire announced plans to host a new free event called Heroes Night on Aug. 23 at North Park, 1025 Riverwoods Road.

Heroes Night will feature family activities such as waterslides, stunt bike shows, virtual reality stations, a demonstration from a police dog unit, bingo, a bounce house, carnival games, face painters, a visit from costumed superheroes and more.

There also will be a Pie in the Face fundraiser to raise money for Spinal Muscular Atrophy with Respiratory Distress. All proceeds will be donated to smashSMARD, a charity was founded by Lincolnshire residents Brittany and Bobby Stineman, whose 2-year-old son, Nash, has the rare disease.

The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m., rain or shine. The village encourages residents to ride their bicycles to the event because parking will be limited. A secure bicycle area will be available, and every bike rider will receive a coupon for a free hot dog, courtesy of the village of Bannockburn, while supplies last.
