The event takes place in Cook Park and along Church Street in downtown Libertyville. You can watch as both nationally ranked and local dogs run down a 40-foot dock and leap into a huge pool that holds 27,000 gallons of water. In addition to the dog jumping competition, Cook Park will be filled with more than 30 vendors selling dog-oriented items as well several local food providers.

In addition to the canine jumping competition, Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer will offer a police dog demonstration, over 30 vendors selling canine-related products, dog training and deskunking demonstrations, a pet costume parade and more. Joe Lewnard/jlewnard@dailyherald.com, 2016

The local Knights of Columbus will donate all money after expenses to local organizations that help those in need. This year's event is sponsored by Care Animal Hospital, Byline Bank, GreenTree Animal Hospital, Liberty Auto City Subaru, North Shore Gas, Pampered Pupz, Petranek's Pharmacy, The Pet Factory and Veterinary Specialty Clinic.
