Crazy about canines? Dog Days returns to Libertyville July 12-14
The village of Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer is back.
This annual event is celebrating its 11th year featuring Dock Dogs National Canine Aquatic Jumping competition. The event is hosted by Libertyville's local Knights of Columbus Council 3674 and will run from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, July 12; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 13; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
The event takes place in Cook Park and along Church Street in downtown Libertyville. You can watch as both nationally ranked and local dogs run down a 40-foot dock and leap into a huge pool that holds 27,000 gallons of water. In addition to the dog jumping competition, Cook Park will be filled with more than 30 vendors selling dog-oriented items as well several local food providers.
The local Knights of Columbus will donate all money after expenses to local organizations that help those in need. This year's event is sponsored by Care Animal Hospital, Byline Bank, GreenTree Animal Hospital, Liberty Auto City Subaru, North Shore Gas, Pampered Pupz, Petranek's Pharmacy, The Pet Factory and Veterinary Specialty Clinic.
