Huntley Area Lions install new officers

On Thursday, June 27, the Huntley Area Lions board recently installed its officers for the new year by Lion Bob Fowler, past District Governor.

They are: Jim Saletta, president; Pam Palmer, first vice president; Dr. Deb Junkins, second vice president; Sheldon Clark, third vice president; Jim Graves, treasurer; Carol Santee, recording secretary; Nancy Lawrence, director; Jim Geiger, director; and Jim Harper, outgoing president and new corresponding secretary.

The Huntley Area Lions hosts a business meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. the second Thursday of the month at Cosman Cultural Center, 12015 Mill St. in Huntley, and a dinner program meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at Pinecrest Restaurant, 11220 W. Algonquin Road in Huntley. Cost for the dinner is $16.

On July 25, the speaker will be Carole Peters, executive director of the United Way of McHenry County.

On Aug. 22, the speaker will be Kate Bousum, certified fundraising executive director of Advancement at Child's Voice, a listening and spoken language program for children with hearing loss located in Wood Dale and Chicago.

Founded by a group of dedicated and determined parents, Child's Voice provides children with hearing loss the opportunity to learn to listen and talk.
