You can't be both

"Catholics for Choice" ran a full-page ad in the Sunday, June 23, Daily Herald, applauding Illinois lawmakers for passing the most radical abortion law, bordering on infanticide (partial birth abortion) in the nation. They claim "separation of church and state." Indeed, they have separated themselves from the Church.

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life."

To the 3.5 million Illinois Catholics that "Catholics for Choice" claim support abortion: You can't be both Catholic and pro-choice.
