Tour a historic farm on Lake Michigan
The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation presents its 90-minute annual docent-guided tour of Crab Tree Farm at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27.
Crab Tree Farm is the last operating farm on Lake Michigan in Illinois. Originally a commercial dairy, it has had three owners in its 100-plus year history.
Both tours will feature the restored 1911 dairy farm buildings that now house an extensive collection of furniture and artwork, including a limited-time exhibit of Newcomb Pottery featuring the Fuldner Collection of Early Newcomb Pottery. Additionally, visitors will be able to view the garden area.
Admission is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Advance registration is required. Visit www.lfpf.org or call (847) 234-1230.
