Charity golf outing Aug. 14 supports Schaumburg park programs

Eighteen holes of golf on a summer's day and an opportunity to support programs for the Schaumburg Park District are what's in store at the charitable Links Technology Cup golf outing Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The 12th annual event will be at the Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

In addition to the scramble-format tournament, golfers will be able to take part in different contests on nearly every hole and sample the wares of various local restaurants via "Taste on the Tee" on alternating holes.

Proceeds from the event support recreation scholarships and other projects spearheaded by the Schaumburg Park Foundation. Those helped by this event in recent years include Bison's Bluff Nature Playground, the Meineke Park Challenge Course and the imminent pollinator garden at Spring Valley Nature Center.

"Schaumburg Golf Course offers breathtaking scenery and is one of the most well-known courses in the Northwest suburbs," said Schaumburg Park Foundation Executive Vice President Justin Sienkiewicz.

"The fun continues off the course, as players are invited to a steak dinner at Chandler's, where the winning foursome will be revealed."

The cost of the event is $165 per golfer. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

To register, golfers should visit schaumburgparkfoundation.org or call (847) 985-2115. Payment is due at the time of registration.

Information on sponsorship opportunities is also available at schaumburgparkfoundation.org.
