4 Indiana counties find mosquitoes with West Nile virus

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Two more Indiana counties are reporting finding mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus.

Health officials in adjacent Marion and Hamilton counties said Tuesday they've found such mosquitoes for the first time this year. That comes one day after the Indiana State Department of Health reported mosquitoes in Elkhart and Clark counties tested positive for West Nile virus.

No human cases of West Nile virus disease have been detected so far in 2019.

About one in five people who are infected with West Nile virus develop a fever and other symptoms. About one out of 150 infected people develop a serious, sometimes fatal, illness.
