1 dead in crash of ultralight aircraft in southern Indiana

ORLEANS, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say one person has died following the crash of an ultralight aircraft in southern Indiana.

State police say the crash happened on Monday night in northern Orange County, about 80 miles (129 kilometers) southwest of Indianapolis.

The name of the person who died wasn't immediately released. State police say an autopsy was planned for Tuesday.

The National Transportation Safety Board says it's investigating the cause of the crash. The agency described the aircraft as being amateur-built.
