Ray Cooney's comedy 'It Runs in the Family' opens up PM&L Theatre's Season

"It Runs in the Family" by Ray Cooney, directed by Jim Behr - whose previous PM&L credits include "See How They Run" and "Kiss Me, Deadly" - will open Friday, Sept. 20, and run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until Sunday, Oct. 6.

Ray Cooney's comedy takes place in a hospital and contains all the zany characters running in and out of doors that audiences love in a farce. Confused identities, paternity suits, and an array of lunatics keep Dr. Mortimore (Matthew J. Leptich) on his toes as he deals with his ex-wife (Heather Kearney), delivering an important lecture at an international conference, all while receiving a visit from his former mistress (Erin Booth) and her punkish son (Julian Wilkerson) who may or may not be his.

"It Runs in the Family" will run at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 20, 21, 27 and 28 and Oct. 4, and 5. Sunday matinee performances will be at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 29 and Oct. 6.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students and seniors, and are available online at pmltheatre.com. To reserve tickets directly through the box office, which opens Sept. 9, call (847) 395-3055. The box office is open 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, and an hour and a half before curtain on show dates.
