Ex-trucker linked to killings not yet competent for trial

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) - A judge says a former long haul trucker who authorities say is linked by DNA to the slayings of four women at truck stops in Ohio and Illinois is not yet competent to stand trial in a 1992 slaying.
The ruling issued last week says 49-year-old Samuel Legg must undergo more evaluation and treatment to determine if he could be tried within a year.
Authorities say they arrested Legg at an Arizona group home in January after updated DNA technology linked three Ohio slayings and one in Illinois.
He's also facing charges of raping a teenager in 1997 near Cleveland.
One of Legg's defense attorneys said in May that he was unable to assist in his defense.
Legg has pleaded not guilty to charges in the 1992 killing near Youngstown.
