Arboria of Long Grove host Flag Day event

In celebration of Flag Day, the Village of Long Grove and Arboria of Long Grove presented a program and honored both the nation's flag and Arboria Veterans on Friday, June 14th.

Long Grove Village President, Bill Jacob, introduced Colonel Ryan Yantis, Retired, who is a 9/11 Pentagon Survivor, to speak on his experiences and his service. Retired U.S. Colonel Wayne T. Kirkpatrick presented a brief history of Flag Day and raised the flag before the community. Arboria residents who had served in the military were recognized with a special certificate of appreciation, as well.

Flag Day celebrates the adoption of the U.S. Flag in 1777, as well as the birthday of the United States Army.
