Trial scheduled for Round Lake Beach man charged with murder

The trial of a Round Lake Beach man charged for his role in the shooting death of a Zion woman during a February 2018 home invasion is scheduled to begin Sept. 16.

Zavian Wells, 26, faces three counts of first-degree murder and additional charges of attempted murder, home invasion and aggravated battery with a firearm stemming from the slaying of 26-year-old Kaleah Beville.

If found guilty at trial, Wells could be sentenced up to life behind bars. Wells will be back before the court on July 24.
