Bartlett police announce two promotions

The Bartlett Police Department has announced the promotions of Jim Durbin to the rank of deputy chief of operations and Michael Tavolacci to the rank of sergeant in the patrol division.

Durbin has been with the department for 21 years. He previously served as crime prevention officer and D.A.R.E. instructor and the directed patrol team sergeant.

Durbin earned his bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety of Police & Command.

Tavolacci has been with the department for 17 years. He served as crime prevention officer, D.A.R.E. instructor and detective. He also was a member of the department's crisis intervention and elderly services teams.

Tavolacci has earned a master's degree and doctorate.
