Elk Grove Village Youth Academy Police Applications Now Available

The Elk Grove Village Police Department is offering a Youth Police Academy this summer. This program will provide an opportunity for students to learn about law enforcement and develop a partnership with the Police Department. Through this one-week academy, students will acquire knowledge through both classroom instruction and an interactive curriculum surrounding the law enforcement profession. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and have a hands on experience in many areas of policing such as patrol, the traffic unit, the police dog unit, and investigations.

This Youth Police Academy will take place from Aug. 5 through Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Elk Grove Village Police Department. Applicants must reside or attend school in Elk Grove Village, be between the ages of 13 and 17, and submit a completed application by July 12. Availability is on a first come first serve basis, more information and an application can be found on the Village website at www.elkgrove.org.

Please contact Officer Veronica Rohman at (847) 357-4172 or vrohman@elkgrove.org if you have any questions or concerns.
