Lawmakers haven't earned our trust

I believe the progressive tax is a better system, but I will be voting no on the "Fair Tax" question. Our elected representatives in Springfield have it backward. My no vote may set any progressive tax back years, but our elected have failed us and do not deserve my trust.

First things first. Address spending you have created. I do not fault public servants in their retirement. Private pensions are disappearing because they are not a sustainable business proposition. Only in Illinois are pensions guaranteed tax free bloated by double dipping, late career bumps and sustained with annual cost of living raises.

So many are deserved, but retirees with six digit incomes move away from our property tax-burdened life.

Representatives, when you fix a fair spending plan, I will support a fair tax.
