YWCA Lake County announces the resignation of CEO
The YWCA Lake County Board of Directors announced the resignation of CEO Treopia Cannon as she prepares to join her spouse who recently relocated to Houston, Texas, due to a corporate reassignment. The resignation will be effective July 31.
The board of directors has launched a search for the new CEO. Cannon will serve as a retained adviser to her successor as needed to ensure smooth onboarding and avoid any service disruption.
"YWCA Lake County is approaching a 100-year milestone of providing critical services to thousands of women and families. Family comes first, and the board of directors fully accepts Treopia's decision and sincerely appreciate her dedication and impact," board Chair Melissa Donaldson said.
"She has done a terrific job leading the organization since assuming the role in 2016, including: increasing local partnerships, cost-saving initiatives, launching our Annual Economic Empowerment Summit, and strengthening the Racial Justice platform. We wish her and her family the very best.
"We are confident that this opportunity will attract highly qualified candidates to continue our great work in the community. The search will be swift, and an extremely capable leader will be identified and prepared to take the helm in pursuit of Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism," Donaldson said.

Treopia Cannon will be honored with a reception before her departure. The date and location to be announced.
