Bernie Williams to perform at Baseball HOF Inductions

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Four-time World Series champion Bernie Williams will perform at the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony next month in Cooperstown.

Williams, a former teammate of Class of 2019 members Mariano Rivera and Mike Mussina, says he's humbled by the honor. An accomplished jazz guitarist who was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for his 2009 album Moving Forward, Williams will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

Williams spent the final 12 years of his 16-year major league career on the New York Yankees with Rivera, and Mussina was a teammate from 2001-06.

The Yankees qualified for the postseason 12 straight times - from 1995-2006 - and won the World Series in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000 with Williams in the lineup.
