Time to roll with Bike Palatine Club

Bike Palatine Club is on a roll. Club activities run through September, including twice-weekly show-'n'-go evening causal rides. Tuesday rides start at Birchwood Park, 435 W. Illinois Ave., and Thursday rides start at Mikes Bike Shop, 155 N. Northwest Hwy., both in Palatine.

Season highlights include a five-mile, family-friendly Community Ride Saturday, July 20, with festivities, treats and visiting dignitaries.

Choose from four routes at Cyclefest Aug. 24. All Cyclefest routes start and finish at Palatine's Street Fest and benefit Bike Palatine Club's bike safety programs for kids and adults.

Ride season finishes strong with a two-ride weekend Sept. 13 and 14. The Full Moon Ride and Party begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Palatine Golf Clubhouse, 512 W. Northwest Hwy. The club's finale is the Oktoberfest Family Ride Sept. 14, an 11:30 a.m. loop that starts and finishes at Palatine Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road.
