Pro-choice: a life or death decision
The human fetus is a human under construction. After about 30 hours of fertilization, cell division begins, spontaneous human life has started. Pro-choice today means the mother gets to choose life or death for the unborn child. The age-old expression describing a pregnant woman is "she is with child," not "she is with fetus."
We used to have better morals then, it was a kinder place. Why can't it be what it used to be - the choice between keeping the child or placing him or her up for adoption (or transferred under Safe Haven laws)?
Only 16% of voters nationwide approve of late-term abortions, which begs the question, why do Illinois lawmakers feel this state needs to be the abortion capital of the United States? Inhumane and immoral, abortion is the depreciation of the value of human life itself.
Pro-choice advocates speak of the human fetus as if it were a body part - an arm, leg, organ, etc., which is an incorrect assertion. A pregnant woman is hosting for nine months a unique, separate human which has different DNA.
We have all heard the pro-choice boilerplate statement, "It's my body." Yes it is, but the discussion topic here is the protection of the human life, (or lives), which are inside the mother's body. Adolf Hitler was responsible for about 56 million deaths worldwide. In this country, abortions have killed 60 million unborn children in various stages of development. Which is worse?
How many great artists, teachers, humanitarians, doctors and scientists - people the world needs - will never be?
Abortion is described as part of woman's health and family planning as convenient euphemisms, the inconvenient truth is that abortion is murder. Isn't Illinois better than this? It used to be. What would Abraham Lincoln say?
