Go for the Gold at Wacky Water Olympics at Batavia's Hall Quarry Beach

The Batavia Park District will host Wacky Water Olympics from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 17, at Hall Quarry Beach, 400 S. Water St. in Batavia.

Swimmers will be able to make the most of the afternoon rest periods by participating in a variety of water themed activities.

Between swim times, children of all ages will have the opportunity to compete in multiple types of relay races, a water balloon toss, and other splash-tastic games. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of each activity. The Quarry mascot, Chuck the Duck, is scheduled to make an appearance.

Participation in Wacky Water Olympics is included in the price of admission for all Quarry attendees on the day of the event, so come ready to splash, laugh, and compete. Daily admission to the Quarry is $8 for residents and $11 for nonresidents. Season passes will be accepted.

Unable to attend Wacky Water Olympics? Stop by the Quarry from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 18, for Beach Ball Bonanza and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, for So Long Summer & Swim. This afternoon of wacky summer fun is sponsored by the Kane County Cougars.

Hall Quarry Beach is open noon to 6 p.m. daily through Aug. 11, depending on weather conditions. Season pass holders may enter at 11:30 a.m. Daily admission rates are $8 or $11 for nonresidents.

On Special Family Days, hours will be extended to noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays with a twilight special from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission during these hours will be $3 for residents and $4 for nonresidents.

Hall Quarry Beach occupies a former stone quarry owned by the Batavia Park District. It has been used as a swimming facility since 1920. It features a sand bottom swimming area covering 60,000 square feet that includes islands, slides, and a diving area. There is a playground and plenty of picnic tables as well. Pool passes are available to residents, and visitors may pay a daily fee.

Highlights include Kids Flume, Wiggle Bridge & Splasher, Thrilling Drop Slide, as well as zero-depth edge for easy access. There is a large picnic area, sand volleyball courts, deck chairs, and a concession stand.
