Judge rejects request to block records in woman's death

BOONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A southwestern Indiana judge has rejected a man's request to block the release of records on authorities' investigation into his daughter's 2014 disappearance and death.

The Indiana Court of Appeals sided with Todd Scales in an April ruling that found the records on Kristy Kelley could not be withheld.

Scales then sought to temporarily block their release to the media or other parties until his attorney had reviewed them.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports that a Warrick County judge denied Scales' request last week.

Sheriff Mike Wilder says the records will be released soon, with the exception of autopsy photographs.

Twenty-seven-year-old Kristy Kelley vanished in August 2014 after a night out with friends in Boonville. Her body was found a month later inside her vehicle in a lake.
