What's the hurry on pot?

Why the rush on marijuana legalization? Why only one year to study? We don't know how long it will be until the facts are in regarding the early-adopter states. No deadline should be given for this huge decision on whether to legalize or not.

The argument that with legalization of marijuana, then production, sales and use can be regulated in ways they can't now - is not a good argument. We need to understand more facts before proceeding in the first place. No rush.
