Take part in Hanover Township Open Gym

The Hanover Township Summer Open Gym Program will run through Aug. 2 at five locations throughout the township.

Youth will participate in a combination of team-building activities, recreation, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects, arts and crafts activities, plus 11 acres of outdoor space at the Izaak Walton Center featuring outdoor education activities.

Open Gym is designed to give youth a safe, fun, and positive place to go that allows them to make new friends and showcase their skills while being around positive, caring adult staff.

The Open Gym schedule for the summer is:

• Noon to 4 p.m. Mondays for ages 5-14 at Oakhill Elementary (Enter Door 9), 502 S. Oltendorf Road, Streamwood.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays for ages 5-14 at Laurel Hill Elementary (Enter Door 7), 1750 Laurel Ave., Hanover Park.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays for ages 5-16 at Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center and Reserve, 899 Jay St., Elgin.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Thursdays for ages 5-14 at Laurel Hill Elementary (Enter Door 7), 1750 Laurel Ave., Hanover Park.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Fridays for ages 5-16 at Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center and Reserve, 899 Jay St., Elgin.
