State police place roadside safety check near Rosemont June 20

Illinois State Police District 15 will conduct a roadside safety check during the late evening hours of Thursday, June 20 until the early morning hours of Friday, June 21, on the westbound Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) at the Devon Avenue Toll Plaza near Rosemont.

Officers working this detail will be watchful for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. Roadside safety checks are designed to keep the roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
