Sign up for American Pride Project with VFW

Watch City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1307 and its Auxiliary are in the middle of the American Pride Project, a great fundraiser for the residents of Elgin and South Elgin.

Volunteers will install a temporary 10-foot flagpole with a 3- by 5-foot flag in your yard on five national holidays of the year.

You can subscribe for only $40 before the next holiday Flag Day, June 14.

American flags will be put up at approximately dawn and taken down by dusk.

Additional holidays are Fourth of July, Fourth of July, Patriot Day (Sept. 11) and Veterans Day (Nov. 11).

American flags were also put up on Memorial Day.

The post hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of the month. If it is a federal holiday, the meetings are on the second Monday.

They are currently meeting in the backroom of Hoopers Bar and Grill, 975 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin.

Post 1307 is proud to have a vibrant and active auxiliary. The auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month at Elgin Fire Station No. 6, 707 W. Chicago St. in Elgin.
