Get creative ideas for your outdoor space at Idea Garden open houses

Skip the apps and websites, and come see inspirational garden ideas in person at the popular Master Gardener Idea Garden in St. Charles. Join the Master Gardeners for three summer open houses beginning Tuesday, June 4, and experience these creative garden concepts in person, throughout the season.

"The 2019 Idea Garden continues to showcase designs that are easy to replicate at home, but with some new featured ideas," said Sarah Fellerer, program coordinator for University of Illinois Extension. "Come see what plants work well for medicinal or food storage gardens. Learn about making patches for front yard veggies, beneficial beetles or pollinators. There's also our children's garden and more."

The three open houses will be hosted from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4; Saturday, July 20, and Tuesday, Aug. 6. Visitors also are welcome to stop in during Master Gardener work days on other Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. The Kane County Master Gardener Idea Garden is at 3480 Route 38, at the intersection with Peck Road in St. Charles. Visitors can enter via the Route 38 driveway.
