Trump's suggested immigration merit system

Trump's suggested immigration merit system will, in effect, rewrite American poet Emma Lazarus' remarkable sonnet The New Colossus. Cast in bronze and mounted on our Statue of Liberty since 1903, the message has been a beacon of hope for all the world, and a symbol of the very core of American values and nobility.

Trump would like this better: "Give us your peppy, your well off, your privileged few yearning to make more money, the best of your teeming shore. Send these, the merited, tempest gifted to me, and only then will I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

This fellow just does not get it, and unfortunately, he never will.
