What anti-Israel congresswoman should know

"The truth will always win" a writer stated. She obviously does not know history or the truth.

In Chronicles in the Old Testament, it is written that God gave Abraham the land of Canaan for the Jewish people. It extended from the Nile River in Egypt to the Euphrates in what is now Syria, significantly larger territory than what is now Israel.

There never was a Palestinian people nor did they own a country. They lived on land that was controlled by Turkey from 1516 to 1917, then by Jordan and Britain till 1948, when the U.N. declared Israel a homeland for the Jewish people. Surrounding Arab countries told Arabs to leave the country and that they would drive all the Jews into the sea and then the Arabs could move back to their homes and take the Jews' property as well. Many did leave, and they became the so-called "Palestinians" and lost the right to what they had owned.

Others remained and they are Israeli citizens with voting rights. In the ensuing years, the Arabs attacked Israel in three wars and in each Israel won and recovered territory that according to the Old Testament God, not man, had given them.

My grandfather bought land in 1920 from a sheik who didn't want the land. Jews have lived in their land since biblical times. Look at all Israel has done since 1948 to the country. With its agriculture, fisheries, science, cities, industry, reclaiming the desert in Israel and to aid humanity. Contrast that with what the "Palestinians" have done. They have done nothing but foment hate.

This is what should be given to U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
