Lions retinal screening bus to visit Elgin library June 7

The Lions mobile retinal screening unit will be coming to Elgin to conduct free screenings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 7, in the parking lot of Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

The mobile screening unit is sponsored by the local Elgin Lions Club and the Lions Illinois foundation, and is made possible through your generous donations.

The quality of life for people with retinal disorders, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy is dramatically impacted. Since early detection of such disorders is critical, persons 55 or older are encouraged to take advantage of this free eye screening.

Anyone wishing to join the Lions on their fight against the effects of vision and hearing loss should contact the local Lions club or for more information about the programs and services offered by the Lions of Illinois Foundation. Or visit www.lionsofillinoisfoundation.org.

For more information, contact Lion Gary Hearn of the Elgin Lions Club at (847) 899-8245 or garjag2013@att.net.
