Another Nero

I sent a letter to the Daily Herald in March. Recent events and your latest columns and cartoons have made me suggest a change to the Pledge of Allegiance. Our President Donald Trump, is still a bombastic egoist. His ego will be somewhat satisfied with a new national pledge:

"I pledge allegiance to the Divided States of Donald Trump. One nation under Trump. With liberty and justice for all who Trump approves of."

God created the heavens, earth and time. God is in control of all things. God selects all rulers. We don't know what God's plan is. Therefore I will continue to pray to God for Donald Trump and all elected officials to work together with civility to enact reasonable laws to benefit all Americans, not just a select few. The elected officials must not be unduly influenced by political parties, big money givers and lobbyists. They must represent the views of the people who elected them.

Now to resolve this situation we, the Americans, must be patient. While being patient we must do our duty. Carefully study all the information available and vote for those candidates who will do their duty and govern in a manner that will serve the country in the best possible way. Most important, vote.
