Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation to award grants totaling nearly $38,000

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation welcomes grant recipients and interested members of the public to a Disbursement Open House from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave., Batavia.

At this event, the club will present grant award checks totaling nearly $38,000 to representatives of 35 community groups and schools.

Attendees will meet members of the Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation and connect with members of the educational, social services and philanthropic communities.

Recipients of grant dollars share the club's goal of bettering life for children and families in Batavia and the Fox Valley.

Members raised this money through its three main fundraisers: Autumn Craft and Vendor Show, Bunco Night, and Fox Trot 5K/10K Race events, as well as sponsorships and smaller fundraisers.

Applications for charitable disbursements are available on the website in January and are due by March 15 each year.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, founded in 1934, dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in the Fox Valley area. Last year, the club donated nearly $38,000 to local charities, including CHIP-IN Batavia and CASA Kane County, whose activities support this mission.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is open to all mothers in the area who are interested in local philanthropic, service and community activities.
