After sweeping Oak Park, the Dukes (20-9, 13-4) can claim a share of the West Suburban Silver title by beating Hinsdale Central on Thursday. York scored all its runs in the first inning. Dan Brown had 2 RBI. Danny Chrisman picked up the win and John Milling earned the save.
Metea Valley 10, Waubonsie Valley 0:
The Mustangs (22-6) advanced to the DuPage Valley Conference tournament title game with the six-inning victory. Cade Sullivan homered while Jake Kmiecik and Spencer Collins each drove in 3 runs. Winning pitcher Jack Belskis struck out six and walked none.
Naperville North 7, Neuqua Valley 1:
The Huskies (14-12) upset top-seeded Neuqua Valley (22-6) to move on to the title game of the DuPage Valley Conference tournament. Winning pitcher Connor Genovese allowed just 2 hits in 6⅓ innings. Five players drove in runs.
Glenbard East 5, Bartlett 0:
Complete-game winning pitcher Jacob Bailey fired a 1-hitter with 9 strikeouts for the Rams (22-11, 18-7) in their Upstate Eight Conference win. Jimmy Cotterill, Joe Hamilton and Mitchell Glennon had 2 hits apiece.
WW South 10, Glenbard North 0:
Matt Scherrman, who doubled and drove in 3 runs, was the complete-game winning pitcher for the Tigers (16-13, 10-11 DuKane Conference), striking out three, walking none and allowing 4 hits. Joe Adamek went 2-for-4 while Matt Brennan had 2 RBI.
Downers South 8, Loyola 3:
The Mustangs (19-10) broke out to a 6-1 fifth-inning lead in their nonconference win. Anthony Stellato, Chris Gory and Mike Hoes had 2 hits. Gino Cozzi pitched into the sixth inning to get the win.
