Lake Zurich Memorial Day events

American Legion Post 964 in Lake Zurich will host a 100th annual Memorial Day tribute to fallen heroes and veterans on Monday, May 27.

The event includes a parade that steps off at 10 a.m. from post headquarters at 51 Lions Drive, and a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the Lake Zurich Veterans Monument, 200 Mohawk Trail.

The keynote speaker will be Sam Robinson, command master chief at Naval Station Great Lakes. There will be a presentation of a wreath, reading of the names of deceased area veterans and music by the Lake Zurich High School band.
