Newly renovated Patoka Lake Nature Center reopens

WICKLIFFE, Ind. (AP) - The state Department of Natural Resources says the newly renovated Patoka Lake Nature Center in southern Indiana has reopened with several new features for families to learn about area wildlife.

The agency says the new features include a land-to-lake view of wildlife commonly seen at Patoka Lake, new interactive wildlife management displays, and a terrarium and aquarium exhibit featuring box turtles, a tiger salamander and an albino alligator snapping turtle.

The center is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's located north of Wickliffe, located about 60 miles (96 kilometers) northeast of Evansville. Its phone number is 812-685-2447.
