Save-A-Pet to host annual reunion

Save-A-Pet invites the community to attend its annual reunion from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.

The event includes entertainment by Jazzman Jeff, tours of the adoption center, a bake sale, photos, food and fun. A pet blessing will take place at 1 p.m.

Save-A-Pet logo merchandise will be available for sale. All activities take place at the Save-A-Pet adoption center, at 31664 N. Fairfield Road, Grayslake.

"Although the reunion used to be for people who adopted pets from Save-A-Pet, it has evolved into a community event and everyone is welcome. Please feel free to bring your well-behaved dog," said Lillian Messner, president of Save-A-Pet's board of directors.

Save-A-Pet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and has saved more than 63,000 animals, and expanded thousands of families with the love of an adopted pet. Relying solely on donor generosity, Save-A-Pet, is the largest no-kill cat and dog rescue in Lake County, and costs more than $1.6 million per year to operate.
