Baseball: Naperville North, Wheaton North, Glenbard West win

Naperville North 9, Metea Valley 6:

The Huskies (11-11, 5-9) scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th inning to win in the DuPage Valley. Cliff Vickers doubled, homered and drove in 3 runs. Quinn Sheehan, Ben Lindflott and Noah Williams had 3 hits. Zach Dinkel was the winning pitcher in relief of Logan Nardi. Jason Kirchner homered for Metea Valley (20-5, 8-5).

Wheaton North 7, St. Charles East 2:

Andy Nelson homered twice as the Falcons (18-8, 13-4) swept the DuKane Conference series. Ryan Russman was the complete-game winning pitcher.

Glenbard West 13, Downers Grove North 4:

A 5-run top of the first inning started a 14-hit barrage for the Hilltoppers (12-10, 8-6 West Suburban Silver). Matt Shellady went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI while Joe Peraino and Logan Ryan drove in 2 runs. Peter Schilling pitched into the sixth inning to win on the mound. Ryan Schindler went 3-for-4 for Downers North (5-23, 4-14).

Glenbard South 14, East Aurora 1:

The Raiders (19-8, 15-5 Upstate Eight) rolled in five innings after scoring 11 runs in the first inning. Mason Barnick and Cooper Wilson each drove in 3 runs. John McMahon, Drew Vozza and Livio Valli had 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Ryan Creevy struck out eight.

IC Catholic Prep 11, Timothy Christian 1:

Winning pitcher Kevin Cooke had 3 hits with a homer and 3 RBI, and Peter Sykora went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI for the Knights (14-17, 5-6 Metro Suburban Conference).
