Girls track and field: St. Viator advances three to state

Three St. Viator girls advanced to next weekend's state girls track finals out of the Class 2A Richmond-Burton sectional on Wednesday night.

Senior Isabella Pierce won the 100-meter high hurdles in a time of 16.70 and the 300 low hurdles in 48.45.

The Lions also had two sophomores advance to the state finals next weekend at Eastern Illinois University.

Katie Castelli took first place in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:38.70 and the 1,600 in a clocking of 5:34.54.

Sophomore Serafina DeMunno will run the 200-meter dash at state after winning the sectional in a time of 26.45.

St. Viator scored 75 points in the sectional meet to finish third, behind champion Marian Central (124) and second-place Carmel (80).
