Baseball: Glenbard East's Schoenke throws 4-hitter

Glenbard East 7, Larkin 0:

Winning pitcher Mary Schoenke fired a 4-hitter with 4 strikeouts and a walk as the Rams (18-10, 14-6) won in the Upstate Eight Conference. Glenbard East broke a scoreless tie by scoring 4 runs in the fourth inning. Kevin Stalling with 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Jimmy Cotterill, Joe Hamilton, Bret Bushka and T.J. Riley also had 2 hits.

WW South 8, Glenbard North 7:

Joe Adamek's RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning won the DuKane Conference matchup for the Tigers (13-11, 7-9). WW South sent the game to extra innings with a run in the seventh inning. Adamek went 3-for-4 while Mike Kowalczyk had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Jim Zay, who drove in 2 runs, and Jasper Serences had 3 hits for Glenbard North (9-15, 3-13).

Lake Park 1, Geneva 0:

Masen Riser scattered 3 hits and struck out seven in 6⅓ innings for the Lancers (11-12, 6-9) in their DuKane Conference win. Lake Park scored the game's lone run in the top of the fifth inning.

Metea Valley 2, Waubonsie Valley 0:

Jack Cagigal pitched a 5-hit shutout with 5 strikeouts and a walk for the Mustangs (20-4, 8-4) in DuPage Valley Conference action. Clay Billadeau and Sam Labarbera drove in the runs.

Neuqua Valley 7, Naperville Central 0:

Mitch Rokosz doubled twice and drove in 3 runs as the Wildcats (20-5, 11-1) won in the DuPage Valley Conference. Justin Blazek went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Cooper Avery allowed 1 hit and struck out six in 5 innings.

St. Francis 11, Aurora Central 3:

Bennett Eltoft went 2-for-3 with a homer and 3 RBI for the Spartans (17-4, 7-2 Metro Suburban Blue). Complete-game winner Zach Radel struck out two. Ryan and Tom Siurek each drove in 2 runs.

Westmont 4, Peotone 3:

Behind Riley Basit's 2-run homer the Sentinels (20-9, 6-4 Interstate Eight) broke out to a 4-0 third-inning lead. Zak Fischer got the win in relief while Alex Marotta earned the save.
