Police: Dolton man arrested after gun threat at Aurora factory

A Dolton man was arrested after threatening to pull a handgun on a co-worker, Aurora police said in a news release posted on the department's Facebook page. A loaded weapon and extra magazines were discovered in his work locker, police said.

David Cox, of the 14000 block of Ingleside Avenue, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor possession of a firearm without a FOID card, police said.

Cox is a temporary employee with Glanbia Performance, 600 Commerce Ave. Plant managers told police that earlier in the week, Cox told a co-worker that he was going to "pull a (pistol) on you." Later in the day, another employee saw Cox wearing a fanny pack which he believed contained a weapon, police said. The employees eventually notified management, who immediately called police.

A search of Cox's work locker found a fanny pack with a 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun loaded with 14 rounds, and two additional loaded magazines with 27 additional rounds, police said. Cox will appear in DuPage County Court at a future date, the release said.
