Mike Sullivan fired a 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks for the Falcons (13-7, 8-3), who won the DuKane Conference game in the bottom of the seventh inning when Tyler Woltman walked with the bases loaded to score the lone run.
Naperville Central 10-1, Naperville North 1-6:
The Redhawks (4-19, 3-9) won the DuPage Valley opener behind Danny Hughes, who went 4-for-4, and Joe Wooten, who had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Kyle Steele won on the mound. Ethan Kaiman was the complete-game winning pitcher in Game 2 for Naperville North (8-10, 2-8). Mike Bruebach and Jacob Miller each drove in 2 runs.
Willowbrook 2, Downers South 1:
Danny Holloway's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Warriors (18-3, 13-0) a walk-off win in the West Suburban Gold. Jack Hines and Scott Tumilty had 2 hits. Josh Roucka won in relief of Joey Guthrie. Jack Blazevich went 2-for-4 for Downers South (11-9, 8-2).
Lake Park 6, WW South 4:
A 4-run second inning powered the Lancers (9-10, 4-7) to the DuKane Conference win. Winning pitcher Masen Riser, who had 2 RBI, came an out shy of the complete game but Bradley Patton got the final out for the save. Matt Scherrman went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for WW South (8-11, 2-9).
Glenbard West 6, Leyden 3:
The Hilltoppers (9-10) scored 3 runs in the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Gavin Hepner drove in 2 runs while Tommy Bleker had 2 hits. Drew Cater was the winning pitcher in relief.
IC Catholic Prep 9, Noble Speer Academy 3:
The Knights (13-15) won the nonconference game after falling behind 3-0 in the second inning. Complete-game winning pitcher Kevin Cooke went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and Ryan Malek homered.
