Softball: Three home runs power Crystal Lake South

Kyra Swartz, Alyssa Niketopoulos and Christina Toniolo all hit home runs in Crystal Lake South's 9-6 win over Cary-Grove on Wednesday.

Emily Sulikowski went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI while Swartz and Alexis Pupillo both had 2 hits. The Gators (21-1, 8-1) extended their Fox Valley Conference lead heading into Thursday's matchup with Huntley, who is two games back.

Kelly Johnson led Cary-Grove (8-9, 4-5) with 3 hits.

McHenry 1, Huntley 0: The Red Raiders (16-7, 6-3) managed only 6 hits in 9 innings and wasted a dominating start from Bri Bower who struck out 15, walked none, gave up 3 hits and an unearned run.

Bartlett 7, Elgin 2: Niki Campo earned the win for the Hawks while Abby Sensor doubled and scored a run for the Maroons. Caitlyn Keith also had an RBI.
