Girls soccer: Elgin blanks Larkin

Guadalupe Sanchez scored on an assist by Evelyn Sanchez in Elgin's 1-0 win over Larkin on Wednesday.

Joana Mercado made 10 saves as Elgin improved to 11-8 overall, 3-3 in the Upstate Eight Conference.

Crystal Lake Central 2, Crystal Lake South 1: Emma Chudik found the back of the net for the Gators in the second half after they trailed 2-0 at halftime. Elise Gorman assisted. Lauren Buckley made 6 saves.
